Supporters, Constituents and Dear Friends, I cannot urge you strongly enough to keep yourselves protected and your neighbors informed on how to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
It is my firm belief that this pandemic cannot withstand the good old-fashioned grit and wisdom of unity in the community. Go to your neighbors, donate a mask, donate an extra dollar or two to our hard-pressed food banks, whatever you can, we need your positive energy in this fight. Cooper joined the effort to bring Covid-19 testing to Kefauver Terrace Apartments, Jefferson Square Apartments, Paul Borda Tower Apartments, Montgomery Plaza Apartments, Patterson Pointe Apartments.
Memphis District 86 - Representative Barbara Cooper has announced that free, voluntary testing for COVID-19 has begun in many of the city’s housing units. Health care workers and National Guards men wearing medical protective gear, in conjunction with MIF5A and Governor Bill Lee's COVID-19 Unified Command Group.
Representative Cooper says she's heard from constituents in those areas, many of them seniors, who are concerned about the virus. "Often senior citizens and others in high rise apartments and public housing may want to get tested but don't have the ability to get back and forth to the mobile testing centers; this way we can respond to their concerns and bring the testing directly to them to serve their needs." Cooper added the effort is supported by the Governor's office, the Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legisla¬tors and the House Democratic Caucus.
Pursuant to the June 4, 2020 Order of the Davidson County Chancery Court, if you are a registered voter and do not wish to vote in-person due to the COVID-19 situation, you are eligible to request an absentee application by mail.
